The Guadalupe space for the Arts: Mexican Artists in Volterra

The Guadalupe space for the Arts: Mexican Artists in Volterra

From October 31 to  November 23

The exhibition "Tlaloc cries when the sun rises", which open Friday Oct. 31 at the underground art gallery of Volterra presents works of the young Mexican painter Carolina Tangassi, descendant of the Tangassi family of Volterra: paintings, drawings and small bronzes that are displayed for first time Europe. The paintings by Carolina Tangassi collapse of a world view into the pre-Hispanic to rise from the caves of the symbolic unconscious, without his identity, to a multi-dimensional surface of color and movement - while the works on paper by changing calligraphic precision to a monochrome chaos are full of strength and vitality.

Documentary, 2008 - 30 min.

In the twenties, in the country of Espinazo, Nuevo León, in northern Mexico, José de Jesús Fidencio Síntora Constantino, known as the "Niño Fidencio", became famous for his miraculous healings. After 1938, the year of his death, some people, received the spirit of the Niño, thus perpetuating his work to charity. Twice a year, the "materials", along with their faithful, shall visit the sacred places of Espinazo - a place that exists only through these "spirits of light" just for a few days. The film by Alejandro Gomez
de Tuddo who was awarded a short while ago at the International Documentary Festival in Mexico City, tells a touching story between heaven and earth.
