Volterra is known worldwide for the treasures of art in its churches, museums and Pinacoteca Civica. It's also famous for its beauty and for the many testimonies of its Etruscan, Roman and medieval past. This hotel, located five minute walk from Piazza dei Priori, is the ideal accommodation for those who want to visit Volterra and enjoy the pleasant city life for a few days. The old building is situated within the medieval walls of the city. It was built in 1480 and until the late 70's was a nunnery. In 1982 the building was renovated and converted into a hotel. The hotel has 44 standard and superior rooms on three floors.

Two wheel chair accessible rooms (one double and one single) are located on the ground floor. All rooms have air conditioning, mini bar, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. The hotel features an Internet Point located near the reception. The palace has a beautiful courtyard garden, swimming pool and solarium. The pool is open from May to October, guests can enjoy it throughout the day. The towels for the pool may be requested at the reception. The bar can serve drinks and snacks by the pool and in the garden. During the summer the breakfast buffet is also served in the garden.

The restaurant of the hotel is available for dinner, but only for large groups booked in advance. In case of individual stays half board is served at a restaurant located a short distance away. The half board cost is Euros 20 per person. However, in the historical center of Volterra you can find many good restaurants and the hotel staff will be pleased to recommend to you the best ones. In an adjacent building is situated a private garage where guests can park their car for a fee of 11 euro per night. Other parking areas are located outside the ancient walls surrounding the city.During the stay in Volterra it’s possible to visit museums and cultural attractions including the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum, the Pinacoteca Civica with the the beautiful deposition made by Rosso Fiorentino, the Civic Museum, the Museum of Sacred Art.
